Why anyone pays for this

AI has read the public internet. It has never watched your business work.

AI agents are now being built to do real office jobs, and the public web can’t teach them how. Your records can: the client thread that took six replies, the ticket fixed on the third attempt, the way your team actually decides things. Those records are private, so AI companies have to pay to learn from them.

Steer clear of sketchy data buyers

More than 18 new companies started advertising for business data this autumn. Most are brokers, and some are hard to trace. Walk away if you see any of these.

  • No real company behind the ad
  • Fees you pay up front
  • AI lab logos with no named deal
  • Pressure to sign this week
  • System logins on the first call
  • Your details passed to others

About us

Questions owners ask

Every question
What are the steps to license my company's records?

You keep ownership and license a copy. The 2-minute quiz tells you which buyers accept businesses like yours. Ask for an introduction and the buyer looks at what you have, puts an offer in writing, and scrubs personal details before using anything. Without your signature, nothing moves.

How much is my company's data worth?

Buyers' published ranges mostly sit between $100K and $2M, with some advertising more for unusual data. Your headcount, years of records and the systems you use move the number. Our calculator gives a rough range, and only a buyer can give a real offer.

Who buys company data?

Mostly AI data companies, such as micro1, Mercor, Polyshares, Mode and Handshake AI. They license the records and pass them to AI labs, which teach AI agents to handle office work. We rank every buyer we track.

Is this legit?

The money is real (micro1 has pledged $1B for company data, and Google offered $10M for Spirit Airlines' archive). Some of the new advertisers are not, so find out who runs an ad before you hand over anything.

Will I give up my files or my business?

No. A license gives the buyer a copy for agreed uses. You keep the originals, your systems and your business.

Will my clients' details get out?

Buyers remove names and personal details before records are used. Ask for a sample of what the cleaned data looks like, and check what your client contracts allow before you sign.

Does the quiz commit me to anything?

No. There is no charge, and no buyer sees your details unless you pick that buyer. What follows is a conversation, then possibly a written offer, and you are free to say no.

What does it cost?

Usually nothing. Most buyers charge owners no fee. A few brokers take a share of the deal, and our reviews say which ones.

How fast do I get paid?

Buyers that publish timelines mostly say a few weeks after signing, sometimes longer. Check each buyer's payment terms in our reviews.

How many employees do I need?

The typical floor is 20 to 30 staff. Some buyers go lower for firms like law and accounting practices. The quiz shows who fits your size.

Who ends up with my data?

In the end, AI labs, normally via a data company in the middle. Mercor lists OpenAI, Anthropic and Meta among its customers, and micro1 has named Microsoft as a client.
