Data value calculator

What is your company's data worth?

At the low end, a small closed startup's archive has fetched around $10K. A business that is still trading sits in buyers' $100K to $2M+ bands, and unusual data can clear $1M. Move the sliders to see where you might land.

Our estimated range

$100K to $450K

An estimate, not an offer. Built from buyers’ published price bands and closed deals. Only a buyer that reviews your records can make a real offer.

How the estimate works

Start from your size, then adjust for depth

We put your headcount in one of five starting bands, then multiply for years of history, the number of systems that hold it, and whether records link across systems. A closed company is halved, in line with what wind-down archive deals have paid. The bands are our reading of public prices, not any buyer’s rate card.

Records that link across systems add 15%. A closed company is multiplied by 0.5.

Questions about value

How much do AI buyers pay for company data?

Advertised bands mostly fall from $100K to $2M: micro1 and Polyshares each quote $100K to $2M+, Ventra quotes $100K to $2M, Mode goes up to $5M from a $100K floor, and Nyne starts at $100K. Those are the buyers' own claims. The highest public figure so far is Google's $10M bid for Spirit Airlines' internal records.

Why is this only an estimate?

Because nobody prices your records without looking at them. A buyer checks how much history you have, how complete it is, what can be licensed under your contracts and how much personal data has to come out. Use this range to decide whether a conversation is worth having.

What moves a company up the range?

More people, more years, more systems and records that link across systems. A support ticket that points to the code change that fixed it shows an AI agent the whole job, so it is worth more than either record alone.

Can a company that has shut down still get paid?

Yes. Forbes and MIT Technology Review report that wind-down firms have completed over 150 data sales for closed startups, most landing between $10K and $100K a company.

Does it cost anything to find out?

No. The calculator and the match quiz are free and need no files. Some buyers pay us a referral fee if a deal closes, which never changes what you are offered.
