BDLG's "license your data" ads: who is behind them

BDLG has advertised since 12 October 2026 with a keep-your-company, license-your-data pitch. Three quick questions supposedly size up your data's value, then a Facebook lead form opens. No website is linked.

A site called Big Data/Little Guy at bdlg.ai shares the name. Its terms, updated 27 October 2026, now name Unlockt, LLC as the operator, with a suite mailing address in Sacramento. No people are named.

Some buyers pay us a referral fee. It never changes your price or our score. How we make money.

  • Starts with high-level answers, no data transfer
  • Terms now name an operating LLC

02

Who BDLG buys from

The ads name no size floor, price or buyer.

The bdlg.ai site is more specific. It says it works best for businesses of roughly 50 or more staff with several years of records in their own systems, and it points smaller firms to a referral program.

03

What BDLG pays

BDLG's site floats values as high as $5M+ and says buyers cover its fee, so owners pay nothing. The sample offers shown ($285,000 to $425,000) are labelled as mock-ups.

Its pitch is to show one prepared profile of your data to several buyer types and let you compare offers. It also says plainly that not every dataset draws more than one buyer.

04

The contract terms

Delaware law governs the terms, and a legal@ inbox is listed. The operator is Unlockt, LLC, reached through a Sacramento suite address. The terms say any license sits in a separate written agreement, which the site does not publish.

05

BDLG's referral program

The site mentions a referral program for companies under 50 staff but publishes no amounts.

06

Is BDLG a fit for your company?

The Facebook ads still link to no website and name no company. Before you answer a follow-up, ask whether the advertiser is Unlockt, LLC, and ask for a sample license agreement.

07

Six checks before you send BDLG anything

We run the same checks on every buyer we rank. They take an afternoon and they protect the one thing you cannot take back: the copy of your records.

  • Find the legal entity. A registered company name, an address and at least one named person. A Facebook form alone is not enough.
  • Get the offer and the contract in writing before any export. A sample agreement tells you more than a sales call.
  • Ask who strips personal data, how, and when. You should approve the method and see a sample before anything leaves your systems.
  • Ask where the data goes. Which AI companies receive it, whether you are told, and whether it can be resold.
  • Ask how everyone is paid. By you, by the buyer, or out of your deal. Referral fees are normal; hidden ones are not.
  • Get a second quote. Terms from at least one other buyer is the fastest way to know if an offer is fair.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is BDLG the same as bdlg.ai?

They share a name. The site's terms name Unlockt, LLC as the operator, but the Facebook ads do not link to the site or name a company, so confirm they are the same business.
